Seven years ago the U.S. Senate approved the designation of a week in June as “National Pollinator Week”. This year, it will be held June 16th through the 22nd. National Pollinator Week has become an international celebration of all types of pollinators such as bees, beetles, flies, birds, butterflies, and moths. Pollinators provide valuable ecosystem services such as crop pollination and are vital to wildland ecosystems by helping to maintain a healthy plant base which supports terrestrial wildlife, the watershed, and much more.
