Clove Carnation ‘Chabaud’ (pronounced shab-o) is a vintage carnation that dates back to the early part of the 20th century. They were developed for use as a cut flower in France. The fully double flowers of this Dianthus come in a wide range of colors: pink, purple, red, white and yellow. Plants are short-lived perennials that grow to two feet tall. The flowers are clove-scented and are perfect for beds and borders in fragrant, cut flower or cottage gardens. Prefers rich, well-drained soils.
