Eaton’s Penstemon is also known as Firecracker Beardtongue. It is a perennial that is native to the south-central and southwestern U.S. Plants occur in rocky soils of slopes, roadsides and fields. It blooms in late spring and summer, producing scarlet, tubular flowers that are attractive to hummingbirds and long-tongued pollinators. Very drought tolerant.
