Rocky Mountain Beeplant
(Cleome serrulata)
Rocky Mountain Beeplant is native from the Great Plains to California and eastern Washington. Flowers occur in shades of pink or lavender and sometimes white. It is an excellent nectar plant for honey bees, wild bees and other pollinators. Seeds are an important food source for doves and other small birds, and it is a larval host for the Checkered White butterfly. Suitable for reclamation, conservation, xeriscaping and the pollinator garden. Seed has very high dormancy – plant in late fall or provide cold stratification prior to planting in spring.
