Spiderwort, Ohio
(Tradescantia ohiensis)
Ohio Spiderwort is a perennial that is native to the Midwestern and eastern U.S. and is found in medium to dry meadows and prairies. The stalks produce a cluster of blue flowers, which close in the afternoon in sunny weather. If it is cloudy out, the flowers will stay open longer. Ohio Spiderwort is very adaptable and can be grown in full sun or partial shade. It adds early bloom to pollinator plantings.
