Utah Sweetvetch
(Hedysarum boreale)
Utah Sweetvetch is a wide ranging native perennial that produces pink and violet flowers in spring and summer. Plants do best in full sun and dry conditions, preferring alkaline, sandy or rocky soils. Native across Canada and the western United States. Succulent foliage is highly nutritious for livestock and large game, and provides cover and food for sage grouse. Ideal for erosion control, reclamation, roadside beautification and xeriscaping.
